On Immigration:

Immigration is difficult because you worry about a lot of things like if the border patrol will come for you. It is very sad that the government destroys families because of certain laws and restrictions. Immigrants are coming here because they need to support their family and they come here to work twice as hard as others. People think that immigrants come here because they just want to do bad things. Maybe the government can help them because most come here for one reason: to work. There are a lot of ways that we can help immigrants because they didn’t come here to do bad things and to be here without papers. They can die when they pass to the U.S.A.; a lot of people have died passing the borders. We have to do something that helps them to become stronger and not be scared of anyone in the world. They are scared to ask for their rights and they stay quiet because they think the border patrol is going to deport them.

Autobiographical Writing:

Present

I am a
New Larissa
I am so
Good I have
A lot of friends
More than
I had before
My friends
Help me a lot.

I came here
With a passport but
My mom preferred
To stay here
Because there
Was no more
Work in Mexico.
My sisters and I
Wanted everything
She always bought
Us a lot of things
For her it
Was tiring
She had to
Support my sisters and me

She was
Never home
She was always
Working we never
Saw my mom
My big sister
Had to
Take care of
Us because she
Was the
Older one.

Here in the U.S it
Is different we
Have a better
Life we have
Better things
My mom doesn’t
Work any more like
Before now she
Only works in
The mornings.
I have a great
Step dad and he
Helps my mom a lot
He loves my mom

The only thing that
I don’t like is
Being Hispanic
Because people discriminate
Against our language
They don’t want us here
In the U.S

I am an immigrant.
Other people see me
Like a stranger
I don’t really care
I am who
I am and I
Only know that
I am proud of me
Who I am

No matter what
I think that sometimes
They are wrong.
Nobody has to
Hate other people with
Different color or
Different culture
We are all humans
Other people are wrong
To say that we can’t
Have the things
That other people have:
Like a good job
Better things.

Immigrants are here
Because they want a better
Life like everyone else
Please make it easy
Don’t deport the people
That only came here
With a dream and one bag
With nothing in it.

My Future

I want to go on to college and study to be a nurse or doctor. I would like to work at El Rio Hospital because I think they make good money. Medical professionals learn a lot of things, and I like to help other people.

I would like to be a U.S citizen and get papers to get all of my work done like becoming a nurse in a hospital. I would like to marry and have one baby boy and live in Miami, Florida. I love that place; it is amazing. I would like to be a good mother and be responsible for everything. I want to show my son how to be a good person and be responsible in life. I would love to have a big house, a lot of cars, and a lot of money. I would love to go to Mexico to visit my father and my family. I miss them a lot; I haven’t seen them since 4 years ago.

I want all of these things because I know that being a nurse will help a lot of people. I would like to be a U.S. citizen because I will not have to worry about a lot of things and I will get a better job. I would like to marry because I want to have a family. I would like to have one baby boy because all of my family has mostly females and I want to have a boy. I would like to live in Miami, Florida. I love the beach and I want to have a big house close to the beach and have a view of the beach. I want to be a teacher to my son because I don’t want him to do wrong things like I did. I would like to go to Mexico because I miss my family and I think they miss me too. I haven’t seen them since long ago.

I would also like to help other immigrants because I know how it feels when you are separated from your family. I know how it feels when someone discriminates against you and they don’t want you here.
