On Immigration:
I think the world has to change and throw out all the borders. All of the countries should get together and just be one country in the world. People should treat all people the same and to be the same means all people can do whatever other people do. It should not be that because someone is in a country illegally they can’t do what other people do just because they are not from there.
People immigrate to other countries because their country is in war or they don’t have work and they don’t have money. That’s why people cross the border illegally; it’s because they need to eat, they need a job to get money, and they want to have a better life. But, some people from the other, good, country think that everything is the same everywhere. They think that immigrants don’t need to immigrate. They don’t understand why people immigrate illegally, or at all. They think that all people live the same way that they live because those from the other, good, country have not suffered like those immigrating.
Autobiographical Writing:
Past
When I was in México, I was a boy that loved animals. I liked to be with my animals always like my horses, roosters and cows. Sometimes my dad sent me to give food to all the animals. The ones that I liked the most were the roosters. Other times I would ride my horse all day long and play with it. I brushed my horse twice a day. I also liked to go fishing and get a lot of fish to eat.
I liked to go play in the rain and get wet and play with my friends. I played in the mud and got all covered with mud. Sometimes it rained all the time.
Before I came to the U.S., I knew just one language and now I know two. I didn’t like to watch television. And in my free time I was always in the streets playing with my friends and doing cool things like building things. All afternoon we would play baseball or sometimes play “hot seats,” or musical chairs. My friends would help me with my chores to finish fast and go play with them. In school, we would always play sports at lunch and then eat wherever we wanted. After school I used to play with my friends and pass all the day together. Sometimes they would help me count the cows to finish faster so we could play more.
I think my life in Mexico was good. Sometimes it was difficult because I got tired doing my chores because there were too many. But sometimes it was cool because I was all day with my friends. I could ride my horse and fight the roosters to win money or other things.
Present
My family decided to come to the U.S and become immigrants so we could get better education. Now I know ingles and I am bilingual. In my high school, I know a lot of people from different countries and different cultures. Now I have more discipline because I understand new laws and more rules in school. I am in a class that makes men more respectful and disciplined; it is ROTC, a military class. And, as a result of ROTC, I am more disciplined and I know how to respect other people.
It feels great to know other kinds of people because they can show me other cultures and I can learn about other cultures and countries. I learn their history, make friends, and learn different games. I can learn about life in their country, how school is different or what else is different in their countries.
Being bilingual is also cool because I can speak in other languages with other persons. Being bilingual opens a lot of doors; if you know two languages, you can get better jobs and get more money and have a good home and a good family. You can provide more food and water and a place to sleep.
If you are an immigrant, this is nothing bad. You can be the same person and you get to learn new cultures and new holidays. You also get to know new people and a new language.
Future
My future is going to be cool because I am going to be a pilot in the U.S Air Force. I want to fly the F22 Raptor because it is one of the best fighters and it goes pretty fast. I like to go fast; that’s why I want to fly that plane. I would also like to be the highest officer, give orders to other people and be a powerful guy. I like the U.S Air Force more than military groups in Mexico because in Mexico they don’t have a lot of action. In Mexico, pilots just fly and they don’t get that much action. Here pilots get a lot of action and the government sends you on missions to do a lot of things. I would like to go to war and fight someday.
About being powerful: I would like it because if I am powerful I can earn good money to pay for my necessities and buy things for my family and me. I want to have a family with a wife, two boys and two girls. I hope to live with them in a good place and have a good house. I want to live a long time to see my family grow, be happy and do a lot of things.
