The world is too small
But the people are not
I hear the voice of the homeless baby
But there is no way for me to help
There are so many people crying out there
The world is falling apart
And we ain’t doing anything about it
Our people need us
They need our support

There are a lot of people dying from hunger
They have no food to eat
No place to sleep
No clothes to wear
What is going on in the world?
There are a lot of innocent babies dying
We need to help our brothers and sisters

My neighbor is suffering
She is struggling to survive
Her children are starving
Her children don’t wear good clothes to school
They are doing things that they aren’t supposed to do
Poverty makes her cry everyday
She is trying hard to keep her home
She is losing hope for herself because of poverty
Why don’t rich people help the poor?

Poverty is oppressive
It leads my cousin to difficult situations that she can’t handle
Her grandmother doesn’t have a job
They always struggle hard to get things that they want
They are dependent on food stamps
Without this help they would be dead by now

Poverty is wicked
It makes a lot of people suffer
How long can people continue to live with poverty?
It’s hard for them to live with their dream
When the world is so large
But the people are too
It’s time to help our people
It’s time to give them hope and new life
Time to dry less tears in their eyes
