Undocumented Workers, Solo Warrior
When you are an undocumented immigrant, your life is like a solo warrior…a warrior with nothing to fight with…
Alone in the darkness
With no family, with no…
…nobody
An immigrant with
No jobs, no money;
No family;
Nothing
Every day is pain.
When my dad came here he walked….and ….walked for days…and nights to get to this country.
He felt alone…alone in the desert because he had nowhere to stay and nobody to live with…
After he arrived…
he tried to get a job…
but people didn’t give him one because he was an undocumented person… he slept outside near a trash can… because he had no place to sleep…no place to go.
It took my dad one year to find a job in the United States.
In that year my dad was one of the 7 million undocumented people to work.
The only place that my dad got accepted was in landscaping…landscaping because he was an undocumented immigrant and he went to many different places to work…but everybody wanted a person with documents.
He started working in landscaping because he found a friend that he knew in Mexico. He worked 8 hours every day. He cleaned the back yard of different houses.
When my dad started working…he was quite tired and scared… scared because people might kick him out of this country.
My dad’s dream was to find work and do his best until he could buy a house for him to sleep in and have a family.
After time passed my dad started to be happier because he started to work more and more… to accomplish his dream that he had.
Undocumented Immigrants have a very hard life coming to America, and getting a job…hard because undocumented people are like solo warriors…forgotten, … nothing to fight with.
