Knowing people before judging them is advantageous. In the world, we all have different colors and different backgrounds, but we are all equal. We are all human beings. We all have red blood even though we have different colors and different back grounds.
One of my best friends used to take the school bus, but she wasn’t comfortable because some of the students did not like her because she was from Africa. She told me that when she got on the bus some of the students started looking at her in bad way. She did not want to tell any adult at first because she thought that they would stop if she did not respond to them. They started whispering to each other. She knew that they were talking about her, but she did not care. When they saw her not talking or saying something to them, they asked her if she was scared and why can’t she say something.
I am not sure how someone can hate a parson without having any problems with them. When my friend told me about this trouble, I thought that maybe they might be an African person that did something bad to them and then they thought that all Africans were the same.
She tried her best for so long to not care about what they said, but then she finally gave up and that is when she decided to stop taking the school bus for one week to see if when she came back they had changed their minds, but that did not work. After that week, she came back but nothing changed. Then she went to the principal’s office and told the principal. She called in those students and told them that if they do not stop, they will get suspended. After the principal finished telling them that, they changed and my friend felt happy to be treated fairly.
Many people judge each other because of their religion or many different things. Even though we do not have the same believes or backgrounds, we are all equal because we are all human. We know that we can’t all have the same thing in common. Most of the time, people do not talk or tell their stories because they know that if they tell their stories people will start making fun of them. Sometimes people make others feel bad when they judge other people because of their pronunciation.
I remember when it was my first year at Catalina. I knew how to speak English, but I had different pronunciation from other students. I was always scared to talk to other students because I knew that they would laugh at me. I felt that way because of my English. My best friend was in that class, and she is the one that helped me. My friend told me, “You don’t have to care about what people will say about your pronunciation because you came here to learn and if you keep trying you will learn more. “
I know that we can fight this war and win it. I call it war because people who are being judged do not have freedom to do what they want and they do not have peace. If everybody would tell their problems, they I know that we can make the change. Maybe if everyone has the chance to tell their classmates the problems that they have, maybe that can help to tell other students about their feelings. If people get a chance to tell about themselves, that can help a lot. Like my friend in the bus – I know that if everyone knew about her, they wouldn’t make comments or judge. In my country, we have a statement that says that people get to meet, but mountains can’t meet. That statement means that you never know who will help you in your future. Many people think that if people have the same believes or background that means that they can help you when you have problems, but sometimes people change and don’t know who will help you.
If we all think about the other countries that have war now, maybe it started with these simple judgments. If I had my way, I could change the world. I would change everybody’s feelings for others because that could bring peace in the world. Judging people without knowing them is making people kill innocent people. Something that we all need to know is that if you judge someone, there will be another person that will judge you and make you feel the same way they feel.
Let’s stop segregation. Even though we are different, you have to remember that you do not know who will help you in the future. I know that no one would like to be judged by others and that is why if you do not want to be judged, you have to not judge. Let’s stop the war and bring the world together.
