Creating a Change of Four ESL Classes:

I want to change four classes of ESL I feel uninterested in studying four hours of English. The government has made this decision that if a student doesn’t pass the AZELLA test, they will have four hours of English. The government makes this decision because every year they want to know if we are learning English or not. Most of the students feel disappointed to sit in the same class and study four hours of English. I have two classes with the same teacher and two with separate teachers. At first, when I got my schedule after registration, I had three with the same teacher. I know that everyone feels sad to have four hours of English because most of my peers say to me that they are bored; to have two classes is better for me and them. Students should have some free classes to enjoy the school, not feel hatred. They can have some classes that they will feel comfortable to have such as art, dance, or P.E. classes. We should get some free classes to be happy, excited and not to be sleepy in four hours of English.

I have 4 ESL. In the first two classes, I always read the book the teacher gives, do my class reading packages and write summaries after I finish reading. I also do 2 or 3 pages of grammar and punctuation work. During the third period I have academic reading class and there I always do just reading. The teacher has us write vocabulary in four parts: mathematics, science, language arts and general history. Every Friday I have a quiz on those vocabulary words. We do the book reports after finishing reading the books or a resume about the book. Fifth period I have writing class. In this class, we are writing essays, stories, and poems. I feel disappointed because I have four classes and we are doing the same thing, but I want to learn something new in two classes. I want to get two classes of my choice; it’s going to be enough for me and for all students. I think so because students should have more new classes to be successful.

Some students won’t graduate because they need some other classes that are very important to me and to others. Seniors need some important classes before graduation because if they didn’t take those classes they are going stay in school for another half year to graduate.

Four classes do help me complete everything we do in class and we are doing well in these classes, but two classes are the same as the other two, so why I should have four classes instead of two? I just waste my time to be in four classes.

Last year I had two classes of English. In those two classes, we were writing stories, essays, and poems, making book reports after reading books and we did something interesting that didn’t make me bored in two classes. We always were on time to do everything. We had enough time to do every work in two classes. In two classes, we worked on the Finding Voice Project and writing grammar and punctuation. If I had two classes like last year, it would enough for me. I wish to have next year one or two classes of English, Pre-calculus, and Electives. I want to take electives like geography, anatomy, or others. I want to take them to learn something about these classes; they will help me with my career.

I hope that the government will change their policy and we will take two classes instead of four. It would help seniors to graduate on time and will help us also. We would have better education and more classes presently.
