Quit Smoking – A Letter to My Sister
Dear Karla,

I see you, my sister, every day waking up at 5 A.M. in the morning to do work. I know that you don’t t like to work, but I know that you have to work to help the family to survive. Every day I see you depressed or like you need something to not be depressed.

I feel so sad because you started smoking. You, my sister are one of the millions of people that like to smoke. I don’t know why you started smoking. Was it because you thought that it was fun to start smoking? Was it because your friends told you that you look nice with one cigarette in your mouth? Or was it because you thought that smoking was a nice way to resolve your problems? I just want to know why you started smoking. And I want a perfect reason. I want to tell you that smoking doesn’t solve your problems. Smoking causes more problems for you. I think that you didn’t know that smoking causes a lot of problems.

One of the serious problems that smoking causes is cancer. Also smoking affects your lungs. Cancer is one of the most serious problems that smoking causes. But cancer is not the only problem that a cigarette causes; smoking has a lot of affects and I don’t want you to have one of those problems.

If you can’t stop smoking, please go and ask for help. In this life we have people that can help you to quit smoking, and get a perfect life without smoking. Tobacco can eventually rip apart your body and kill you. Smoking is always going to affect you. You think that smoking can help you to resolve the stress that you have. But cigarettes don’t help you; they kill you.

I want you to have a perfect life without problems. I am just writing this letter to tell you that you have a family there for you. And you know that we love you. We are always going to be there to help you.

Sincerely,
Berenice Carrillo
