Alcoholism & Drugs Changed My Friend

I remember my friend as a healthy person.
When we were in middle school
She was my best friend,
She was one of the most popular girls from middle school,
She was very intelligent, she was very brilliant,
And she had all the qualities that every girl wishes for.

But when freshman year of high school started
My best friend was making bad choices of friends,
She was acting different with me,
She was just another friend.
She began hanging out with
Girls that were a bad influence on her.
They were older than her,
And they knew a lot of bad things.

Now she has dropped out of school
And she has begun to work.
Because she needs to work
Just for her addictions.
I knew that something was wrong with her.
I discovered that
She was drinking alcohol,
She was doing drugs.
But, what I never imagined
Was that she was addicted to them.

I think that she began to do that
Because of the bad influence that she got from high school
And because of all the problems that she has at home.
I don’t think that’s an excuse for her to drink;
I do think that my friend could stop with these addictions
If she thinks about all the dangerous effects that could happen
Like car accidents,
Problems with police because she
Is underage to drink alcohol,
Financial problems, violence and depression.

I want to tell my friend that
A lot of people are worried
About her
She can count on them
Because they will help her,
We just need to convince her
To quit alcohol and drugs.

I just want my friend to be like before
I want to help her so bad.
I want to find a solution,
Because I love her.

I promise myself
That I am going to help you.
And I have in my mind some ideas
For your rehabilitation
I promise you that you will have a better life.
I hope that one day
You will read this and see
How much I care for you.
I really want to help you.
Trust me.
